Performance Process Consulting

The efficiency of an organization's processes is a key element of its ability to compete. And processes are interwoven with the knowledge, skills, and commitment of the people that perform and manage them. We help clients overcome change and other turbulent forces to maximize performance.

Change Management
Team Building

Change Management
Innovation feeds growth. Yet reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions, and changes (processes, technology, etc.) that respond to marketplace dynamics can cause instability and impede performance. TSG helps organizations embrace small-to large-scale change initiatives and meet their objectives through a proven six-step change process that:
  1. Defines the change(s) required to yield desired performance(s)/outcome(s).
  2. Assesses change readiness through formal assessments, informal interviews, and focus groups to identify leaders, change targets, and resisters.
  3. Builds the guiding coalition with leaders, team members, and sponsors who make the change happen.
  4. Develops a strategic roadmap that provides a disciplined approach to incorporating change and identifies key milestones.
  5. Aligns change targets with a strategy that facilitates execution and gives them the physical and psychological tools that help them accept change.
  6. Communicates to all stakeholders throughout the implementation and celebrates successes.

Team Building
Team building—you can't argue the concept. But what is the real payoff? Top organizational leaders rightfully demand cost justification for training. TSG's process that links the results of this training to measurable business results begins in the workshop with the participant:
  1. Set SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely) goals. The workshops guide each participant in creating a SMART goal.
  2. Move to action. Participants then tie their goals to their organization's goals by outlining the following:
    • WIIFM ("What's in it for me")—Helps participants tie how they will benefit from the training back to how they do their work on the job.
    • Impact—Participants are guided through calculating a simple ROI equation that illustrates the monetary investment the organization is making in them that day, which motivates employees to contribute.
    • Actions on the Job—Participants create action plans that provide a daily roadmap for completing their goals once they are back on the job. A method of transferring what is learned once they are back on the job is key to successful training.
    • Communication—A top barrier to transferring training to daily work is the lack of reinforcement by managers.* Managers can only reinforce if participants openly communicate about what they've learned and what help they need, which is why the workshop allocates time for participants to craft that communication plan.

This approach generates clear behavior-based results for your organization.

The Sartell Group uses two proven inventories for team building that expedite ROI:
  • Myers-Briggs Type Inventory® (MBTI®) Transform a group of individuals into a high-performing team using powerful insights from the MBTI® tool. TSG uses the MBTI® to help teams discover how each unique personality type contributes to team performance, learn new ways to facilitate cohesiveness, and improve communication and decision making by considering all points of view.
  • FIRO-B® Instrument in Organizations Identify the key motivators that drive behavior and help transform a disparate group of individuals into a cohesive team with insights from the FIRO-B® assessment. TSG uses this powerful tool in workshops or individual coaching sessions to help team members discover how their need for participation, influence, and closeness can be contributing to or detracting from their team's success.

"Understanding the personality types of my team members tells me how best to communicate and work with them. The MBTI® has helped me personally and professionally to understand clients, colleagues, friends, and family. I am able to approach people with a more collaborative spirit! Suzanne made the MBTI® workshop interactive, fun, and informative. We learned while doing and saw how each of us responded differently based on our types. Very enjoyable!"
